1000 gifts

It's been a long week. It seems that the end is harder than the beginning... or maybe I just don't remember the beginning.  Instead of wishing this would be over I should be thankful for the place God has me in right now.

Moments that I'm thankful for...

51.  A sweet time talking with my husband about our son and what it will be like to become parents.
52.  Great time with my mom this weekend.
53.  Feeling my growing son move inside my belly.
54.  A God that answers prayers even when I doubt.
55.  A fun lunch with sweet friends.
56.  Ava's sweet voice when she comes to see me saying "HI!" or "Caillou, please Julie."
57. A great shower where Cole and I were loved on by so many friends and family.
58.  A cute gamecock outfit for Cole.  (and Ray is thankful for a couple Georgia outfits)
59.  Making it to February and still being pregnant. I didn't think it was possible.
60.  The opportunity to carry and grow a child inside me - even though I didn't enjoy most of it I am so grateful that the Lord has given me this one opportunity.

Nursery

The nursery is all ready for Cole to arrive thanks to my sweet friends.

Before.. the nursery was so messy and there was stuff everywhere. Anne and Ashley painted it and organized it.

I asked Anne to use her amazing decorating skills to make it cute.  She picked out pillows, lanterns, picture frames, and made the wall letters.  I love it!  Thanks Anne!

This picture is above Cole's crib.  My mom cross stitched it when we were little.
My sister-in-law is making a few canvas paintings to hang above the bed and that will be the last touch!

I'm anxiously and impatiently awaiting Coleman's arrival.

Unfailing Love

This morning I woke up and just feel overwhelmed and anxious about how our lives are about to change and all the things I need to do to get ready for that. I read this Psalm this morning.  It was comfort to my soul.

Psalm 130
Our of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.

If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
therefore you are feared.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope
My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning;
more than watchmen wait for the morning.

O Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.

Yummy....

Saturday morning (while I was laying on the couch) my sister, Laura, was preparing for the shower by making these yummy chocolate covered marshmallows.
Kate got to lick the spoon!

and make some silly faces

Milestone - 34 weeks

I prayed to the Lord that I would make it to this date and still be pregnant.  He answered my prayer.

 "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations."
Psalm 100:5

Lately...

I haven't been blogging much the past few weeks. Mostly because there is nothing going on in my life.  Bed rest is quite the bore and my life is less than exciting... and I thought you probably don't want to read about it.  But- here is what I do on bed rest....

1. READ a lot of newspapers!  Ray's company offered me a job back in December reading newspapers from all over the state and cutting out articles pertaining to engineering and construction stuff.  Very riveting work!  Although, now I do know a lot more of what is going on in the world since I scan all the articles!

2. WATCH a lot of tv.  Now I've always loved watching tv and I tape lots of shows.  We have Netflix now as well so I can watch all the play now movies and shows.  I've watched lots of old The Office episodes.  Ray and I watched 4 seasons of Friday Night Lights.  and I recently started re-watching Alias.  oh and of course I watch several episodes of Friends everyday.  (I have all 10 seasons on DVD now - thanks to Ray's great Christmas gift!) and Gilmore Girls which I tape reruns of everyday!

3. HANG with friends and family.  I love when my friends and family come to visit.  It makes me feel like I'm not missing out on absolutely everything in the world.

4. SHOP online.  although it's more just looking and not actually buying.  Although, I bought most of our Christmas presents online and I've bought some cute things for sweet Coleman to wear.

5. REST - I sleep until 10 almost every day.  I'm not sure how I will adjust to having to get up so much with a baby and also go back to working all day.

6. FACEBOOK and BLOGS - I sit around and read blogs online and stalk people on facebook... :)

7. GO to the doctor every week.  That's the only place I'm allowed to go :( and I do actually look forward to getting out of the house once a week and drive to the hospital for a check up.

something I should be doing.....
work on research for our research project due in April for grad school and work on my portfolio that will be due sometime this semester.  I have not even started on that... I have all the time in the world and somehow the things you really should be doing - don't get done.  :)  The window of time I have before this baby arrives is shortening and so I better start working on some school work!

Small Blessings - 1000 gifts

It's been almost 10 full weeks of bed rest for me.  Some days I feel good and am thankful for the time I get to rest.  Other days I just feel down and discouraged and HATE having to stay in the bed (or on the couch) unable to go anywhere or do anything. It's hard to remember the small blessings in my life when I'm feeling sad but it always makes me feel better!

41. God's love and faithfulness to me and this sweet baby boy.   We are at 33 1/2 weeks.
42. A fun time with friend's celebrating Kitty's birthday and eating an awesome chocolate cake!
43. Lunch with neighborhood friends on Snow/Ice Days
44. A great doctor and doctors office that is so nice and are very cautious in order to make sure Cole is healthy and doing well.
45.  Friday nights when my mom comes to visit and help out.
46.  Lots of yummy meals from friends and family.
47.   My sweet sister and friend who are throwing me a fun shower this weekend.
48.  Anne and all her decorating skills.  She has done an awesome job fixing up Coleman's room and making it look super cute.
49. Watching sports with Ray and our discussions involving the NFL, the Oregon/Auburn game, and the NBA.
50.  God's grace.  He continues to cover me with His grace.
