Gamecocks win!

So the Gamecocks won last night!  I am sooo excited!  We don't watch a lot of baseball in our house but we do watch the College World Series - (especially when the gamecocks are in it!)  Ray will watch it and some what root for Carolina.  But I'm sure he's not so excited like I am today about being the National Champs again!  People say that I should convert and become a Georgia Bulldog fan like my husband and my response is NEVER!

Since Ray is in Tennessee this week I have been teaching Cole the USC chant.  He smiles and laughs when we do it.  He also had to wear his garnet shirt this morning in honor of the gamecocks.  When I texted Ray what we were doing this morning his response was that next week he is taking Cole with him so I can't corrupt him. :)  Football season will be interesting in our house.  Maybe it's good we are moving to neutral territory.

a sad week

This week I have felt so sad.  I got ready for our going away party Thursday night and I thought... I'm excited about a party with my friends but not excited about the reason for it.  I still have about 4 weeks in Columbia but the reality of moving is creeping into my mind.  Ray left for Tennessee today and starts his new job in the morning.  And I've been thinking about all the things I need to do to get ready and also about all the many things I'm going to miss about Columbia.

Some of the things I'll miss....

1. MY FRIENDS!
2. My house.
3. My church.
4. My job! (and my friends and students there)
5. Haircut Kristen!
6. My OB doctor.  (he was awesome during my pregnancy and it's hard to imagine going to a different doctor if I am to ever have another child)
7. Cole's Pediatrician  (How do you find a doctor if you don't have friends to tell you who to go to?)
8. Miyos.
9. Publix .
10. Motor Supply Co.

What I won't miss:

The thousand degree heat.

4 1/2 months

So now my baby boy is 4 months old.  When we went to the doctor for his 4 month check up he weighed 12 lbs 13 oz. and was 24 1/2 inches long.  He is getting so big! I really can't believe it.

He is so sweet and fun these days.  He smiles and giggles all the time.  He listens and stares at us constantly. He cuddles up to me and lays his head on my shoulder when he gets tired.  He can roll over, hold his head up, and grab objects. He grabs his feet all the time and loves to chew on those toes and his hands.  I think we'll have some teeth soon.  He started eating rice cereal and he loves it.
I have loved being home with this sweet boy this summer!

I can now...

get my toes into my mouth!

Tennessee bound

We are moving to Knoxville, Tennessee.

Ray accepted a new job at RSI, an environmental engineering firm.  He will be a Communications Specialist. He's very excited about his new job and that does bring me joy as his wife.  But I'm so sad to leave my friends, my church, my job.  I grew up moving around a lot since my dad was in the Air Force but it's still hard.   I have lived around Columbia for 10 years now.  It's the longest I have lived anywhere.  I've cried a lot and I feel oh so overwhelmed with all of the things I need to get done in the next few weeks.  Not to mention that Ray is leaving in about 10 days to start work up there and I will still be here, just me and Cole, packing up this house that seems to have accumulated so much junk in the last 3 years.  However I know that God will sustain me.  He will sustain me when I feel overwhelmed.  He will sustain me when I feel sad.  He will sustain me when I feel lonely.   "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you." Beach

We spent a glorious week at Litchfield beach with Ray's family.  We had a great time with family and loved spending time with Cole at the pool and the beach.  Here are my favorite shots from our week.

Sweet cousins

Cole loved moving his feet around in the sand.

Sweet Brody loved the beach too!

Poppa and his boys

This crab just came right on up to our tent.
Mamaw and Cole checking out the crab.

Sleepy boys on the beach.  (They are under the tent and in the shade.)

Finally...

the NBA is finally over.

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat last night to win the championship.  This means no more basketball in my house until November.  :) Although, I do love basketball, I also love when the playoffs are over and we don't have to watch a game every night!

More updates soon on our beach vacation and our ever changing life...
